VIA® Release Notes June 2018

Changes and features made available in the June 2018 release of the VIA Platform (check https://status.viaboards.com for more information).

Platform Feature Enhancements

Security or Infrastructure

1. Platform services
   1. Docker Containers - All application services migrated to Docker containers for better CI integration and automated deployment
   2. Multi-region deployment - All web applications are being deployed in multiple regions for load balancing and automated fail-over
   3. Platform Upgrade - Application frameworks upgraded.
      1. Upgrade all Core Frameworks to latest version
         1. Node.JS, Meteor.JS 
            
            
2. Ramp System - Isolated Job Server
   
   1. Ramp processing has been isolated onto its own Job Server
      1. Isolated Job Server prevents ramp execution from causing delays in the Portal UI
      2. Provides improved audit and trace capabilities for all ramps

VIA® Portal

1. Lanes - Enhanced Object Type
   1. Allow Carrier Preferred Lanes to be defined
   2. Allow Customer Preferred Lanes to be defined
   3. Allow Driver Preferred Lanes to be defined
   4. Allow Carrier costs to be applied to a Lane
   5. Allow Customer rates to be applied to a Lane
   6. Allow Internal rates to be applied to a Lane
      
      
2. E-mail System - Inbound E-mail Support
   1. Boards, Lists, and Cards now have their own unique e-mail address
      1. E-mailing a Board can automatically create a card within a default list from the e-mail.
      2. E-mailing a List can automatically create a card within that list
      3. E-mailing a Card can automatically append a note to the card
   2. Attachment support
      1. E-mails sent to a Board, List, or Cards can support attachments
      2. Attachments are limited to pictures, PDF documents, and benign office document

 VIA® Mobile

1. Look and Feel update
   1. Updated stop detail page to match the look and feel of the rest of the application

Ramp System

1. Ramp Triggers - Enhanced Support for Ramp Events
   1. Document Type Changed - Added support to trigger a ramp based on document type being changed  (4031301)
   2. Scheduled Trigger - Enhanced event support to allow ramps to be fired based on a pre-defined schedule or a schedule created by a Ramp Action
   3. Timed Trigger - Enhanced event support to allow ramps to be fired on a timed interval
2. Ramp Actions - Enhanced Support for Ramp Actions
   1. Automatic Rating - Enhanced action to trigger automatic rating from Ramp
   2. Auto Assign Carrier - Enhanced action for automated assignment of carrier based on preference and waterfall pattern
   3. Schedule Ramp - Enhanced action to allow for a deferred execution of a ramp at a later time
   4. Archive Card - Added action to allow for automated archive of a card from a ramp
3. Ramp Validations - Enhanced Support for Validations
   1. Related Cards - Enhanced validation support to allow validation based on related Carrier, Driver, Truck, or Customer cards
   2. Mustache Parsing - Added support for mustache parsing on Ramp Validations (4041527)
4. Management
   1. Added ability to duplicate ramps.  Copied ramps are created in a disabled state.

Conversations

1. Management
   1. Added ability to hide conversations
   2. Added ability to set auto-hide date
   3. Added settings to control notifications and mute or un-mute at a user level
   4. Added settings to control notifications and mute or un-mute notifications at a card level
   5. Added settings to control auto-open, auto-focus, and auto-complete
2. Notifications
   1. Added notification when you are the only user in the conversation
   2. Added a "hint" to "add a user" when you are the only user in the conversation
3. Macros
   1. Added support for pre-defined macros for conversations to allow quick reply, or "canned" responses.
   2. Added support for macros to have user defined fields which must be filled
   3. Added support for categorization of macros
   4. Added support to have company-level control of macros and categories
   5. Added support for users to have personal macros

Platform Fixes / Defects Resolved

 VIA® Portal

1. Fixed document attachments to allow document type to be applied on cards that do not have stops.
2. Fixed ability to delete board level comments
3. Fixed ramp access to document type data
4. Added setting to control usage of UTC times on arrive and depart
5. Attachments with no content (zero byte) will not be uploaded
6. Fixed exclamation (new message) notification on conversation history
7. Fixed multi-select on card search from always being displayed to fix issues where it is not utilized

9. Removed beta mode restriction on freight details in segment cards
