VIA® Release Notes September 2019 - Q3 Release

Changes and features made available in the September 2019 (Q3) release of the VIA Platform (check https://status.viaboards.com for more information).

Platform Feature Enhancements

VIA® Portal

• UI Redesign - Improved and Simplified UI for all card objects to improve readability and touch enabled devices
  • Stop progress indicator is now vertical vs. horizontal to allow for an unlimited number of stops and easier indication of progression   
                                          
  • Stop indicators are now menu buttons to allow stop specific instructions (Add stop, Add freight, Add reference) to be easily accessed 
                                          
  • Allow adding stops before or after a current stop relative to the stop selected
  • All display elements are now consistently flat
  • All action buttons (Left side) have been removed and consolidated into the "Add" button at the top of the card
                                       
• Sharing - New feature that allows the status of an order or segment to be "shared" with an external user by E-mail or Text message     
                                                
• Resource Search - Added enhance search system to provide better matching of Truck, Driver or Carrier based on a wide range of criteria               
                                                                                               
• Filtering - Added filtering capabilities by relative date (Today, yesterday, Tomorrow, This Week, Last Week, etc..)
• Filtering - Allow searching on special characters (~, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), -, +, =, _, `, {, } etc…) in contains filters.
• Filtering - Added new filtering capabilities for Drivers
• Assignment - Assigning a Driver or Truck to a load will bring associated resources along with the primary
• Customer - Added default e-mail address for various roles
• Members - Added search / filtering system to allow easier location of users
• Custom Fields - Added new ability to show or hide custom fields to allow for invisible fields
• Lanes - Enable search / filtering on lane objects
• Ramps - New ramp action "Remove Carrier" to allow removal of a carrier with automation rules
• Ramps - New ramp action "Add Member" and "Remove Member" to allow users to be automatically assigned or removed on a card based on automation rules
• Ramps - New ramp action "Replace String" to allow string replacement capabilities
• Ramps - New ramp action "Create Event" to allow creation of event cards on a tracking board
• Ramps - new ramp action "Unarchive" to allow a card to be taken out of the archive
• Events - Added new toolbox capabilities to allow merging of events
                                                
• EDI - Added native EDI support for Shipment Status (214), Accept/Reject (990) using the Ramp system
• Quote - Quick quote now supports specification of Accessorials for more accurate rate return
• Rate Confirmation - Added support 

VIA® Chat

• Added entirely separate VIA® Chat platform that can be used independently by users that do not have full access to VIA® itself (https://via.chat)
• Released new Windows version of VIA® Chat to allow chat conversations without the need to be logged into VIA®
• Added support for file upload / download (drag and drop, etc...)
• Added support for in-line images and animated GIFs
• Created automated signup system to allow users within the same company to register for VIA® Chat without the need for Administrator setup

VIA® Mobile

• Mobile - Added support for inbound macro messages so that Drivers can fill out forms in addition to free text messages.

Platform Fixes / Defects Resolved

 VIA® Portal

• System Wide - Resolved issue with Date Picker showing "Invalid Date" when improper information is received.
• System Wide - Resolved display issue with Date Picker having compressed font 
• System Wide - Resolved card sort order issues when manipulated or created using the API
• Admin Portal - Groups are now sorted properly by group name
• Lists - Description capability has been deprecated as it was causing display issues
• Locations - Resolved issue with newly created location not being displayed until a refresh happens
• Multi-Select - Resolved issue with some cards disappearing temporarily when selected in a multi-select group
• Mapping - Resolved improper geo-coding of addresses under certain circumstances
• Mapping - Prevented pop card from being dragged elsewhere on the screen incorrectly
• Orders - Resolved issue with date error occurring when an order is newly created
• E-mail - Resolved issue with multiple attachments not being delivered on outbound ramp
• Customer - Added error to indicate why a customer was not (or could not) be assigned to a load
• Filtering - Fixed contains filters using the Microsoft Edge browser
• Notification - Ensure closed button is always visible
• Custom Fields - Removed symbols from custom field names
• Custom Fields - Custom fields now have a limit of how many tabs and fields you can add per tab
• Users - Fixed issue with setting relationships not being saved
• Attachments - Corrected issue where attachment icon would not always display a correct attachment count
• Lists - Fixed issue with improper or incorrect card counts when they were moved or relocated using the API
• Mapping - Tracking resolution was not correctly controlling the number of points displayed
• Mapping - Routing was not always following stop sequence properly
• Mapping - Inset and World mapping stopped functioning when a load (segment or order) was completed
• Mobile - If driver and truck are both assigned to a load, only truck messages would display.
• Conversations - Fixed issue with hidden conversations not being searchable
• Errors - Prevented card update ramps from firing when a user acknowledges an error
• Chat - Allow users to be added to a conversation that are outside the membership of a board
• System Wide - Changing a title of a card would incorrectly trigger "Save Changes"
• Rate Confirmation - Resolve issue with rate confirmation issue not saving correctly
• E-mail - Resolved issue with e-mail replies coming back into the system blank
• Notes - Adding long notes would place save button off-screen
