Rating in VIA®

The ability to generate rates for loads as they are entered is an integral part of the  VIA® system. There are a number of ways to provide rates in the system and the direction you choose will often be determined by where the rates are coming from. If you broker loads and charge your customer a markup or margin on top of the rates provided by your carriers you may be able to make use of the  VIA® API interface. This method will reach out to carriers who are integrated with the VIA® system and pull back your agreed upon rates. Conversely, VIA® also provides you with the ability to manually enter in rates into rate cards. You can use these rate cards to bridge the gap if you have carriers that are not API integrated; or if you wanted to create internal rates for lanes that you do not use carriers to service.
