Viewing Boards
This will show how to view your boards.
How to view a board
Simply just click any board from the categories section on the homepage.
If you do not see any boards they may be hidden. Click a category or click "Expand All" to show boards. If there are other users who can see the boards but you cannot you would need to be made a member of the board. This can be done either in the board slide out menu → members section; or your administrator can grant this access within the administration screen → group section.
You can also click on a board in your shortcuts in the top left corner.
View Options on Boards
There are a number of different ways that you can view the card information on your board. There are currently 4 different views available on boards; however, depending on the type of board some of the views might not be available. To access the different views available on your specific board open the board and click on the view icon on the top right side of the screen. This will bring up a popup list of all the views available for your specific type of board.
List View
This is the classic way to view cards in VIA. Your cards will be organized in vertical lists. Below is an example of a list view using a quote board. Using this method will display your data in logical groups that were created for your unique business requirements. This view will be available on any board in the VIA system
Map View
The map view is mostly used to display location and routing information. While this view may be available in a number of different board types, it will only return data in boards that have a physical address or a location. This includes boards such as: Order, Segments, Quotes, Carrier, Truck, Driver, Trailer. The map view will display a map what can be displayed in either classic map view or satellite view. If you are viewing a route based card such as an order, segment or a quote the map view will show you the route that the card will follow. You can show or hide information such as the route line, and tracking points or geofences.
If you are viewing cards such as drivers, trucks, trailers or locations then the information presented will be a single location to show where they are currently.
If you are on a location tablet then, from this view you will also have the ability to edit your location's geofence.
Timeline View
The timeline view is the most limited view VIA offers as it only applies to a limited number of boards: Order, Segment and Driver. In the timeline view the cards are broken down to show the dates that they cover. For Orders and Segments the timeline view will show a row for each Order or segment (depending on which board you are looking at) and will show the pickup and delivery times for each card in the columns. For example:
In the screenshot above, you can see that TRANZ091074 is scheduled to pickup between 2:00 pm and 12:00 on The 27th. The order is also due to deliver between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on the 29th. Each segment displays the stop number as well as the stop location. As you complete the stops for each cards the colors will change on the timeline view. When the order stops are completed the stop on the timeline will change to green:
This view will provide the dispatcher with a calendar type view to see easily which stops have been completed and which stops have yet to be done on their board for the date range that you are viewing.
If you are on a driver board, the rows are divided into the individual drivers. The information in the column displays what the driver is scheduled for on the date range displayed. In addition to any loads that they are booked on, the grid will also display any additional items that the driver has scheduled. These additional items can be configured in the admin menu under drop down options.
Workspace View
A workspace view in VIA allows you to customize how you view the data contained in your cards. You can display the card data using grids, graphs or in a map. You can also display website information using the workspace view. The workspace view is a great way to reorganize the data that you see in your cards in a way that is meaningful to you. Workspaces can be made private or shared to other members of your team.
