VIA® Mobile - Getting Started

This guide is intended to introduce you to the basics of the VIA® Mobile application and to get you started and familiar with its operation.

Login Request

When the application is initially launched you may be presented with a login screen.   The login screen can be bypassed using automatic login capabilities provided by the tablet or device on which the application is running.  When the login screen is displayed – what login information is required is dependent on what is required by your company.   In most cases, this is your company ID, and your driver ID.  Fill in the information requested and press the Go button to continue.

Safety Warning

The VIA® Mobile will automatically disable user input if the vehicle is in motion.  You must be at a complete stop to use the application interactively.

Main Display

The main screen that is displayed when you log into the application depends on the configuration set by your company.   You will either be presented with the detail route / stop screen for the load you are currently assigned to drive, or you will be displayed the Loads screen which allows you to see all of the loads you're assigned.    You may also notice differences based on what type of device you are using and what the screen resolution for that device is capable of displaying.   In landscape mode on larger devices you will see the full stop address and product information for that stop.

Display Differences

What you see may vary significantly from what is shown here as the application can be configured to turn off or not display certain fields.

Arriving/Departing a Stop

On the Stops Tab - the stop you are currently on is displayed under the heading "Current Stop"simply tap on any stop to open the editing screen.
The stop will indicate your next action by highlighting it with color.   This indicates that action is the next to be performed and can be pressed to complete the action.

Prior to arriving or departing a stop – a small badge in the right side of the button will display "EST" to indicate that the date/time information is an estimate.

Pressing the highlighted button will arrive or depart the stop with the current date/time as the arrival (or departure) time.  After pressing the button it will change to a green check mark indicating that action is completed and the date time of arrival (or departure).  The percentage completed will change to indicate how much of the current load is completed.

Stop Detail

From the main display - you can click on the stop header to access the stop detail page.  From the stop detail page you can see reference number and commodity details for that stop.
You can add new reference numbers (if enabled) and update commodity information such as pieces, weight, and other details for that stop.

Document Capture

From the stop display you can capture POD and other document by clicking the camera button (if enabled) on the right side of the screen.   When you click this button it activates the camera on the device.  Take a picture of the document with all of the edges visible within the picture and in the best light possible (without shadows).
